Project Associate

Whether it's climate change, food shortages, or economic inequality, almost all the world's most pressing problems require STEM (science, tech, engineering, and math)-based solutions. Yet only a tiny fraction of our population has the STEM knowledge to even be at the table solving them. So it's no surprise we haven't solved these challenges yet. To solve them, we need all of tomorrow’s problem-solvers to be equipped with STEM skills and inspiration. And tomorrow’s problem-solvers need excellent STEM teachers today to guide them.

100Kin10 is a national network committed to solving one of our country’s most pressing challenges– giving kids a great STEM education– by adding 100,000 more, excellent STEM teachers to America’s classrooms by 2021.

The Project Associate reports to the 100Kin10 Executive Director and plays an integral role in supporting the core activities and effectiveness of the Executive Director (ED). This includes managing key aspects of the ED’s external communications and profile, including drafting and editing speeches, papers, and proposals, creating public-facing web- and print-based collateral, managing our social media presence and website, grant writing, day-to-day management of development and communications projects and data, and the occasional internal communications project. The person will also attend meetings with the ED, manage follow through, and help coordinate the ED’s portfolio of activities, acting as a liaison with staff, partners, and our PR and communications consultants.

The right candidate will be committed to getting sterling results in a fast-paced environment and be able to calmly and efficiently prioritize and execute against competing needs. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented, intellectually curious and creative person who also enjoys managing relationships and processes. In working closely with and for the Executive Director, you will have a front-row seat and unique opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute directly to the work of an innovative and highly respected organization at the cutting edge of STEM education and creating impact through a highly-networked community.
