ABOUT THE ROLE - Special Assistant To The President

The Special Assistant to the President will provide critical capacity to the Office of the President and will be responsible for liaising between several organizational leaders, including President Marilyn H. Simons, Vice President for Special Initiatives Patricia Weisenfeld, and other key leaders. The Special Assistant to the President is a communicator, first and foremost -- a clear and concise writer with a strong intuition for working with people. You have proven experience managing several projects simultaneously as well as handling a consistently heavy workload, often largely composed of administrative work. You are motivated by the mission and vision of our team and can connect your work “behind the scenes” with the bigger picture. Above all else, you are someone who remains organized and composed in complex environments, and who jumps at the opportunity to make an impact through your efforts.

The Special Assistant to the President helps to prioritize activities, initiatives, meetings, and events for the President, allocating the President’s time in accordance with priorities. Working with the Senior Executive Assistant, you will facilitate the President’s team meetings, set the President’s meeting agendas, as well as research and prepare the President’s reports, presentations, and other formal communications. Working directly with Foundation leaders you will experience firsthand what it means to lead a well-run and fast growing organization. You will be exposed to an unusually wide range of people and issues in the scientific, mathematical, and philanthropic sectors while seeing what it takes to build the internal infrastructure and operations of an innovative organization.
